Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  In late August, the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction of Uzbekistan and the Ulsan city administration (South Korea) signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on human capital development.

The document was signed in Tashkent by Bekhzod Musaev, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Employment and Poverty Reduction, and Kim Doo-gyum, the Mayor of Ulsan.

According to the memorandum, the parties will establish the Ulsan Professional Training Center, which will train specialists for employment at major companies in Ulsan.

Uzbek citizens are expected to undergo a three-month training program at the center, where they will learn professional skills and the Korean language. Upon successful completion of the training and exams, the Ulsan city administration will provide visas for those who will work at South Korean enterprises.

Currently, businesses in Ulsan require approximately 50,000 workers. The initial phase of the project aims to attract 400 qualified workers from Uzbekistan per year, with plans to increase this number to 5,000 qualified workers annually for employment in Ulsan alone.
