Uzbek Senate announces amnesty
Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
The Senate [upper house] of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan [parliament] adopted a resolution on amnesty on Friday, 28 August 2009. The Senate is holding the nineteenth plenary session.
The senators adopted the decision on occasion of the eighteenth anniversary of the Independence of Uzbekistan.
It is planned the release of women, those who were under 18 when committing a crime, as well as elder people and people with disabilities or severe diseases.
