Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — General education institutions in Uzbekistan will begin teaching the fundamentals of energy conservation. This initiative was announced by Minister of Preschool and School Education Hilola Umarova in an interview with the "Uzbekistan 24" television channel.

The program aims to instill a culture of rational energy consumption in the younger generation. School curricula will incorporate examples of natural resource conservation into subjects such as "Upbringing," "Geography," and "Physics."

Umarova noted that, in collaboration with the Uzbek Agency for Technical Regulation, booklets with practical energy-saving recommendations have been developed. These materials have been adapted based on Japanese expertise.

Earlier, on 19 February, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed proposals to enhance energy efficiency.
