Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- During a trip to Khorezm region, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the activities of the textile enterprise of the Khiva Cluster Limited Liability Company.

One of these factories was organized in Khiva district. The company has installed advanced equipment from Turkey, Germany and China. Having launched production in November last year, the company provided employment to 500 people.

Last year, the textile cluster grew almost 20 thousand tons of cotton. 1,545 hectares were irrigated using the drip method.

Overall, from 2018 to 2023, the cluster implemented projects worth US$105 million, creating an export potential of US$50 million per year. More than 800 young people work in the cluster system. Currently, together with other enterprises, about 20 products such as oil, soap, eggs, dairy products, and shoes are produced.

The President got acquainted with the cluster’s plans for the future. In particular, new projects stipulates an increase in the production of raw cotton and the production of value-added products from it, and the localization of light-duty trucks. In the coming years, the cluster intends to switch to waste-free production.

Through the implementation of the following projects, it is planned to increase the total number of cluster employees from the current 10 thousand to 30 thousand.
