Uzbek president starts official visit to Brazil

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov started official visit to Brazil on 27 May. The Uzbek leader arrived in Brazil on the invitation of this country’s President Luiz InÃ¡cio Lula da Silva.

The official welcoming ceremony was held and guards of honour were marshaled. State anthems of two states were performed, UzA reported.

Uzbek President Islam Karimov and President Luiz InÃ¡cio Lula da Silva will hold negotiations on 28 May and discuss Uzbek-Brazilian relations, regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Signing of a number of bilateral documents aimed at deepening cooperation in various spheres is expected.
