Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Khushnud Mahalla in Tashkent’s Yangihayot District to observe living conditions and the changes that have taken place in recent years.
Established in 2021, the mahalla is home to over 11,000 residents living in 48 apartment buildings and 625 households. The area features a kindergarten, a sports school, a family clinic, a private medical center, manufacturing enterprises, shops, and service facilities. This year, 49 microprojects created jobs for 116 people.
Previously, the area was on the outskirts and lacked appeal, but since 2018, modern residential buildings, children’s play areas, and sports grounds have been built, while the surrounding territory has been landscaped.
In 2024, a three-story mahalla building was constructed. The ground floor houses offices for the mahalla chairman and staff, a library, and a corner dedicated to the Jadids. The upper floors include a training center for STEM and foreign languages, a fitness hall, and a mono-center for youth career guidance.
The President inspected the facilities in the mahalla and spoke with activists and elders, who noted significant changes in the area due to the construction of new transportation infrastructure and enterprises.
“The purpose of our visit is to see the outcomes of our decisions and understand how they affect people’s lives. We aim to develop every region, creating comfort for residents and increasing job opportunities, while paying particular attention to education, upbringing, and culture,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev stated.
The President also visited a private kindergarten with 150 places, opened in the mahalla this year. Located on the first and second floors of a 16-story building, the facility combines modern amenities with national traditions. The kindergarten has greatly supported women with young children, enabling them to work in areas such as tailoring and confectionery production, thus contributing additional income to their families.
The President emphasized the importance of implementing impactful programs at the mahalla level, where the system has been granted extensive authority and resources. This approach facilitates improvements in infrastructure and enhances the well-being of the population.
