Uzbek President receives Turkish delegation led by Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 15 May, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, received a delegation from the Republic of Türkiye headed by Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz.
At the start of the meeting, the Turkish guest conveyed sincere greetings and warm wishes from the President of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
During the conversation, the prospects for further expansion and deepening of Uzbek-Turkish relations within the framework of a comprehensive strategic partnership were discussed, with particular emphasis on trade, economic, and investment spheres. Satisfaction was expressed over the active development of bilateral contacts at various levels, the growth of mutual trade turnover and investments, the increase in the number of joint ventures, and the frequency of air connections between the two countries.
The outcomes of the recent Intergovernmental Commission meeting, business forum, and exhibition held in Tashkent were highly praised as significant contributions to strengthening cooperation. The importance and necessity of coordinated efforts to further increase trade turnover were emphasized, including through expanding the range of goods under the Preferential Trade Agreement.
Special attention was given to promoting joint projects in innovation, energy, industry, pharmaceuticals, the textile sector, tourism, education, and other areas, as well as to forming a new portfolio of cooperative projects and developing cultural and humanitarian ties.
In conclusion, the significance of preparing the agenda for the upcoming session of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council was noted as crucial for further strengthening and developing Uzbek-Turkish relations.
