Uzbekistan is developing a sports infrastructure and creating conditions that meet international standards. Considering this, FIFA has decided to hold the Futsal World Cup this year in Uzbekistan. The competition will be organized from September 14 to October 6 in Tashkent, Andijan, and Bukhara. 24 of the world’s strongest teams will take part in the tournament. The arrival of distinguished guests from the participating countries and more than 30 thousand fans is expected.
Responsible persons informed about the preparatory work and plans for sports and cultural events. To hold the championship at a high level, it was decided to create an organizing committee chaired by the Prime Minister.
As is known, the Olympic Village is being built in Yashnabad district of Tashkent. Next year, the Summer Asian Youth Games will be held there.
It is planned to locate the State Sports Academy of Uzbekistan there to use the Olympic Village in the future effectively. The Academy will also create a Research Institute of Physical Culture and Sports and an Institute for Advanced Training of Specialists. Within the academy’s structure, a Scientific and Practical Center for Sports Medicine, an Information and Library Center, and a Center for the Study of the History of Uzbekistan and Foreign Languages will open.
From the 2025/2026 academic year, the academy will begin training in three bachelor’s degrees and six master’s specialties. Academy graduates will be issued a coaching certificate for 6 years. Graduates of Olympic and Paralympic colleges will be accepted immediately into the second year.
Responsible persons were instructed to organize department activities and educational programs based on advanced foreign experience and to attract highly qualified specialists.Another news in sports education will be the creation of kurash mastery schools.
Kurash is our centuries-old tradition and national sport. In the world, 30 million people practice this sport, in Uzbekistan – 30 thousand people professionally, and even more at the amateur level.
In this regard, a school of kurash mastery is planned to open in each regional center. The school will recruit 140 students based on a competitive selection among children in grades 5-11.

Uzbekistan teams are actively preparing for this prestigious competition, conducting targeted training camps abroad. It is important to note that Uzbekistan athletes won Olympic licenses in disciplines such as football, diving, archery, and women’s freestyle wrestling for the first time. The goal is to get even more qualifications and perform well at the Olympic Games.
