Uzbek leader Islam Karimov said Uzbekistan is interested in developing cooperation with the World Customs Organization. “We, in Uzbekistan, understand that effective role, which the WCO plays in developing rules and procedures of international trade.”

During the meeting, the WCO Secretary-General Kunio Mikuriya expressed frank gratitude to the Uzbek President for warm reception.

Kunio Mikuriya said the current visit provides good opportunity to familiarize with the life of Uzbekistan and its dynamic development.

The sides exchanged opinion on issues of further developing interaction between Uzbekistan and the WCO, as well as other issues of mutual interest, UzA reported.
