Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  On 26 September, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with a delegation from the People’s Republic of China, led by Chen Wenqing, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Commission.

Chen Wenqing conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from Chinese President Xi Jinping to the President of Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, the leaders discussed the development of Uzbek-Chinese relations, placing special emphasis on strengthening the all-weather strategic partnership and friendship in light of agreements reached at the highest level.

A particular focus was placed on expanding practical cooperation and coordinating efforts in the fight against traditional and emerging security threats, such as terrorism, extremism, transnational crime, cybercrime, and drug trafficking.

The results of the first session of the Uzbek-Chinese Cooperation Mechanism in Law Enforcement and Security, which took place recently, were highly appreciated.

The parties also exchanged views on pressing issues on the regional agenda.
