Uzbek President familiarizes himself with life in mahalla in Bagdad district

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Yuksalish mahalla in Bagdad district of Ferghana region and familiarized himself with the living conditions of local residents.

This mahalla, specializing in crafts, manufacturing, and services, is home to approximately 3,300 people. More than 560 houses have household plots, and dozens of greenhouses are organized. Effectively utilizing them, residents achieve two harvests per year.

Some families also engage in woodworking, blacksmithing, and embroidery. Today, the number of entrepreneurial entities in the mahalla has exceeded twenty. There is a school, kindergarten, and polyclinic where local residents also work.

Last year, 131 people were employed. To promote entrepreneurship, 240 million soums in credits were allocated for 22 projects.

The head of state reviewed the activities of the Gulnora Matkulobod bodomlari enterprise. Almonds grow well in Bagdad. The enterprise distributes almonds to over 500 households in 11 mahallas, which prepare them for sale. Up to 3 tons of products are processed per day. Currently, almonds with soft shells are supplied to the capital and regions. The entrepreneur noted plans to establish exports.

The President warmly interacted with female entrepreneurs and home-based workers. He thanked them for their initiative, diligence, support for reforms, and job creation for women.

The mahalla budget amounts to 83 million soums. Streets and courtyards are landscaped.

During a meeting chaired by the head of state on June 25 of this year, measures were defined for establishing service companies in mahallas. On this basis, the Yuxalish mahalla service company was established here.

The service company serves 5 mahallas in the Bagdad district. Round-the-clock operations are ensured. The company employs a technical staff of 22 workers, about ten freight and special vehicles, and repair equipment.

Electronic program "Moy dom" is used for payment collection. Conditions for craftsmen are created in the courtyard of the company’s office.

The importance of expanding this experience, paying special attention to the improvement of mahallas, ensuring employment, and cleanliness was emphasized.
