Uzbek President extends the validity of zero duties on the import of certain types of products

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree on extending customs privileges for the import of certain types of food products.

According to the decree, customs benefits have been extended until 1 July 02023.

The document was adopted in order to provide the population with socially significant products and prevent the growth of food prices in the domestic market.

In particular, "zero" customs duties on 22 types of basic food products are being extended. Among these products are meat products, fish, dairy products, eggs, fruits, citrus fruits, vegetable oil, and other food products.

The head of Uzbekistan has set a zero duty on the import of wheat and wheat-rye flour (TN VED code 1101 00).

Also, double customs duty rates do not apply to food products imported from countries that do not provide the most favored nation treatment in trade and economic relations.

These benefits were introduced by presidential decree from 1 June 2022 to 1 January 2023.
