Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 22 November 2024, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with Sir Sumo Chakarabarti, Advisor on Economic Development, Effective Governance, and International Cooperation.
The meeting focused on the implementation of the "Uzbekistan – 2030" Strategy within the framework of the State Program for the current year and plans for the coming year. Special attention was given to advancing reforms aimed at developing key sectors.
A central topic of discussion was the improvement of the system for training and enhancing the qualifications of civil servants in the field of public administration.
The progress of Uzbekistan’s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) was also addressed. The need for accelerated harmonization of national legislation with international WTO norms and standards was emphasized, along with continued efforts to improve the country’s positions in global rankings.
The President highlighted the importance of the timely and quality implementation of all planned projects. He also instructed to supplement the strategic agenda with new initiatives, considering the goals of the declared Year of Environmental Protection and "green" economy, which is a priority for the sustainable development of the country.
