Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirzayev emphasized the lags in the work of ministries and departments on digitalization of the transport system, attracting the private sector to the construction of roads, as well as in increasing freight transportation by rail.

The lack of scientifically based proposals and calculations for the prevention of air pollution was also highlighted.

Deputy ministers and khokims who do not demonstrate good results will be dismissed.

They will be assigned a specific KPI, after which they will be hired on a contract basis for a period of one year.

An innovation has also been introduced: the khokims of Tashkent and the Tashkent region will have a deputy responsible for construction and utilities.
