Uzbek President attends opening ceremony of “One Belt, One Way” Forum
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev participated in an official opening ceremony of the forum “One Belt, One Way”.

China initiated the project “One Belt, One Way”. The project envisages formation and promotion of new models of international cooperation and development and further strengthening of existing mechanisms for bilateral and multilateral cooperation.

Participation of Uzbekistan in the project is important. Uzbekistan, located in center of Great Silk Road, has been holding important place in strengthening inter-state and trade-economic, cultural relations.

The main objective of the forum is to promote and continue development trends along the Great Silk Road, to develop new mechanisms for economic cooperation, to stimulate the economic progress of the states involved, to strengthen cultural ties between different civilizations, and to promote peace and sustainable development.

Today, Uzbekistan pays special attention to mutually beneficial cooperation with all countries. An important role in this will play a partnership within the project “One Belt, One Way”.

The forum is attended by the heads of state and government of about 30 countries, as well as representatives of almost 130 countries. It is also participated by the UN Secretary-General, the President of the World Bank, and representatives of other authoritative international organizations.

The forum was opened by the Chairperson of China Xi Jinping. Chinese President expressed gratitude to the heads of state participating in the forum, spoke about the significance, goals and objectives of this project.

“One Belt, One Way” will allow to participating states to fully utilize their capabilities, complement each other’s economies, stimulate trade and investment, and create broad conditions for the further development of cooperation.
