On 16 July, President Karimov addressed to the grain growers of Uzbekistan with congratulations on completing the contract on selling grain to the state.

President highlighted that each region has specific natural and climate conditions and noted the reforms in agriculture as key factors of the success.

"At such joyful moments, you, the tireless workers, without a doubt, deserve all the praise," president said.

This year Uzbekistan grain growers accomplished the plan by selling over 6,250,000 tons of grain to the state.
