Uzbek-Polish animals’ insemination center opens in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbek-Polish animals’ insemination center was registered in Kibray district of Tashkent region (Uzbekistan). The center will start official work on 1 July 2010.

Miroslav Kiszczak, director-general of the center, stated that Uznasilchilik State Enterprise and Station of Animal Husbandry and Animals’ Insemination in Bydgoszcz (Poland) created the joint venture. The Uzbek side holds 49% stake in the center, while the Polish – 51%.

The Polish side will present 38 bulls, equipment, 70,000 euros and share its experience. The Uzbek side will present laboratory equipment, 12.5 hectares of land for preparing forage for animals and working force.

Miroslav Kiszczak said the Polish side delivered 20 bulls to Uzbekistan and other 18 will arrive in Uzbekistan in autumn. The Uzbek side will present 20 bulls as well, he added.

Kiszczak underlined that Uzbekistan put goal to improve livestock and their production, which became the main factor for creation of the center. He added that the Polish side considered entering to the Uzbek market, and further to Central Asia, for a long-time (about 6 years).

Head of the center said Uzbekistan will become center for breeding and reproduction of cattle in the central Asian region. He said that the center will produce about 1.5 million doses of bull semen a year.

Miroslav Kiszczak added that Station of Animal Husbandry and Animals’ Insemination in Bydgoszcz has great experience in swine-breeding and beekeeping and probably this experience could be used in Uzbekistan in future.

Station of Animal Husbandry and Animals’ Insemination in Bydgoszcz is one of the largest enterprises in Europe, which is engaged in breeding and reproduction of animals. The station sells about 1 million doses of bull semen and 700,000 doses of swine semen a year.

According to the Uzbek State Statistics Committee, the number of cattle rose by 508,000 heads to 8.516 million. Number of cows is 3.522 million heads.
