Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A proposal to introduce a ban on the use of internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles starting from 2030 was made in Uzbekistan.
This proposal was put forward by the head of Uzbekistan’s Ecological Party, Abdushukur Khamzaev.
The politician pointed out that around 700,000 cars move through the streets of the capital daily, consuming 3,500 tons of fuel per day and emitting approximately 700 tons of pollutants into the atmosphere.
“What is more important to us — life or metal?” Khamzaev asked.
The Ecological Party suggests banning the use of ICE vehicles in Tashkent and other regional centers starting from 2030, and from 2035, completely halting the sale of such vehicles across Uzbekistan.
