It was noted that the first international document that Uzbekistan signed up to after gaining independence - Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which was adopted 60 years ago, was an important step towards protecting human rights and interests.
The work carried out on incorporating the declaration’s universally accepted norms into the Uzbek constitution and national legislation is worth special attention. The fact that the observance of human rights was set as the main goal of reforms in our country is clear evidence of this.
Participants in the round table meeting discussed the Universal Human Rights Declaration’s norms on people’s rights to receive and spread information, which are of special importance to journalists.
