Sayyora Rashidova shared information on main directions of the state policy in ensuring human rights, activity of Ombudsman, monitoring of human rights in Uzbekistan, cooperation of the commissioner with international and foreign partners.

She also spoke about contacts with US partners in human rights, cooperation with NGOs and mass media, introduction of habeas corpus and abolishment of death penalty.

In his turn, Mr Krol expressed gratitude for warm reception and expressed importance of dialogue and development of intergovernmental relations.

US official also asked questions on the role of the Ombudsman in parliament system, access of ordinary persons to Ombudsman, applications of the Uzbek people to the commissioner, visits to penitentiary establishments, etc.

Ombudsman office said the meeting was held in constructive environment. Ombudsman handed over materials on the activity of Human rights commissioner and souvenirs.
