The nationwide contest of the national dance was held at the Uzbek National Academic Dramatic Theater. The Ministry for Culture and Sports and Uzbekraqs Association initiated the event, Jahon reported quoting the local agencies.

The contest held under the name "Ustozga ehtirom" (’Respect to the mentor’) was devoted to the memory of the national artist of Uzbekistan Mukarrama Turgunboeva. The winners of the Karakalpak, regional and Tashkent stages of the contests are reported to have participated at the event.

The dancer of "Uzbekiston" ensemble Albina Sharafeeva and Nargiza Khayitalieva, the dancer of "Ofarin" ensemble, secured the top place.
