Uzbek media representatives study China’s energy experience

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - A press tour was organized to the People’s Republic of China for representatives of leading media and press secretaries of the Ministry of Energy and its system organizations. Representatives of the Ministry of Ecology and the Agency of Information and Mass Communications also take part in the event.

Participants in the press tour, organized in accordance with the instructions of the President, got acquainted with the activities of enterprises in the energy system of the cities of China - Beijing, Xi’an and Chengdu.

The first facility in Beijing is China Energy International Co. LTD was created in 2011. Its system employs more than 100,000 employees from 140 countries. The organization’s total assets are US$154 billion. According to experts, the company has launched more than 300 projects with a total capacity of 1060 GW.

Journalists and press secretaries of Uzbekistan got acquainted with the company’s experience in the design, construction and maintenance of power plants. At the same time, they were provided with detailed information on the possibilities of constructing and operating green energy sources such as solar, wind and nuclear power plants, in addition to thermal power plants and hydroelectric power plants.

It was noted that China Energy International Co. LTD is implementing projects in the field of renewable energy in several regions of Uzbekistan with a total value of 2 billion 450 million dollars. For example, the company participates as a general contractor in the construction of a modern power plant under construction in the Syrdarya region, and also, through direct investments, launched an energy-efficient cement plant in the Kattakurgan district of the Samarkand region. In addition, the company is building two solar power plants with a capacity of 500 MW in the Bukhara and Kashkadarya regions.

The initial capacity of these stations was connected to the public grid on December 27, 2023, and today they supply clean “green” energy to the energy grid of Uzbekistan. At the same time, a project is being implemented in the Navoi region to build a hybrid power plant (solar, wind and electric energy storage system) with a capacity of 600 MW.

In addition, a project for the construction of 8 electricity storage systems is being implemented in the Tashkent, Fergana, Andijan and Namangan regions. The purpose of the press tour is to familiarize yourself with the energy system of the People’s Republic of China, the advanced technologies used in it and the digitalization process.
