Uzbek Leasing International A.O. was founded on 5 January 1995 in line with the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan. The founders are National Bank for Foreign Economic Activity of Uzbekistan (35% share), Malaysia’s Maybank (35%), EBRD (15%) and IFC (15%). The charter capital was US$4 million and it rose to US$6 million in 2001.
The company also attracted financial resources of its shareholders. For example, NBU allocated loan worth US$2 million, while ERBD issued loan for US$5 million. IFC issued two credit lines for total sum of US$5.5 million and Maybank allotted US$2 million.
The company also cooperated with other institutions. UzKDB Bank financed four subleasing projects of Uzbek Leasing International for US$2.4 million in 2006. The company overall attracted US$20 million of external financial resources.
Uzbek Leasing International said it carried out leasing deals for 16.392 billion soums in 2009, which is up 9.5% year-on-year.
Aggregate leasing portfolio in 2009 rose by 31.3% in 2009 and made up 25.118 billion soums as of 1 January 2010. Total projects number rose 36%.
Since its launch, the company has realized over 300 projects with total sum of US$50 million.
