Islam Karimov congratulated Berdimuhamedov on the forthcoming Turkmen Independence Day holiday; the two discussed the progress of the implementation of agreements reached so far.

In the course of the conversation, the sides described the construction of the Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China gas pipeline as an example of successful regional partnership. It is beyond any doubt that this project will go down in history as the project of the 21st century.

In this connection, esteemed Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Islam Karimov discussed the preparations for the inauguration of this large gas facility. The heads of state of the transit countries have been invited to attend the ceremony.

The Uzbek leader conformed that he would participate in the inauguration of the trans-national gas pipeline is of a huge regional importance.
