Uzbek leader signs law on punishing of unauthorized connection to electricity and heating networks
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a law, which envisages criminal responsibility for unauthorized connection to electricity and heating networks.

In line with new edition of the second clause of article 185 of Crime Code of Uzbekistan, unauthorized connection to electricity, heating, gas or water networks or intended damage to meters or interference to meters will be fined up to 50 size of minimal salary or up to a year of correctional works. From 1 August 2009, the minimal salary in Uzbekistan set at 33,645 soums.

Actions, which caused large damage, fined from 50 to 75 size of minimal salary or correctional works from one to two years.

The law is directed at minimization of cases of unauthorized connection to electricity and heating networks.
