The agreement is directed to lifting trade-economic relation between Uzbekistan and Belarus to new level. The sides plan to develop economic cooperation in machinery, agriculture and construction sectors.
Trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Belarus rose 64.6% year-on-year to US$120 million in 2007, according to the statistics of Uzbekistan.
Uzbek President Islam Karimov also approved intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in combating crime, which was also inked in Belarusian capital on 19 June 2008.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan was entrusted to submit a note to Belarus on implementation of all internal procedures by Uzbekistan, which are necessary to introduce the agreements into force.
