Uzbek leader praised the activity of the Russian envoy in Uzbekistan and wished success in his future tenure.
In his turn, Farit Muhametshin underlined that his mission in Uzbekistan became unforgettable period in his life and he was witness of wide-scale reforms in Uzbekistan. He noted great contribution of the Uzbek President Islam Karimov to the development of the Uzbek-Russian relations and expressed gratitude to the President for warm reception.
During the tenure of Farit Muhametshin in Uzbekistan, the Uzbek-Russian relations were lifted to new level. The sides signed an agreement on allay relations in 2005. The relations between countries are developing gradually in all spheres.
Bilateral trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Russia increased ten times in past five years. It is expected that the trade turnover between countries will reach US$8 billion. Over 700 enterprises with the Russian capital work in Uzbekistan and 145 Russian companies opened their offices in Uzbekistan.
