Uzbekistan President Islam Karimov received the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid Bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, who is on a visit to the country along with Kuwaiti deputy prime minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Shaikh Mohammed Al Salim Al Sabah.

Shaikh Khalid conveyed to president Karimov the greetings of his Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa and the leadership and their wishes of further progress and prosperity for Uzbekistan.

The meeting covered bilateral relations and means of strengthening them in addition to issues of common concern.

Shaikh Khalid also held talks with his Uzbek counterpart Vladimir Norov on bilateral cooperation and the current issues including the situation in Iraq, the middle east peace process, the developments on the Iran nuclear issue and regional and international matters of common concern.

After the talks, Shaikh Khalid and Norov signed a memorandum of understanding on developing cooperation and the importance of holding consultations regarding international issues.
