Uzbek leader signed the document on 3 April 2013. Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan on 29 January 2013 and Senate approved it on 28 March 2013.

The document was signed within the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov to Seoul (19-21 September 2012).

The agreement creates favourable conditions for citizens and legal entities of two states for rendering legal aid on civil and economic affairs.

The agreement is directed at simplifying and ensuring accessibility of procedures on handing over legal documents, evidence gathering, exchange of information and materials of legal cases.
