Uzbek leader appoints acting governor of Surkhandarya region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov appointed acting governor of Surkhandarya region, southern Uzbekistan, on 2 December 2001.

In line with the presidential resolution, Narmumin Chariev has been appointed as acting governor of Surkhandarya region.

At this post, he replaced Turobjon Juraev, who has been appointed as governor of Kashkadarya region.
