Economy01/08/2008Uzbek-Latvian Oil Processing Company Set Up in Northwest Uzbekistan
Currently, the number of joint ventures operating in Khjayli District has reached six. Recently, the KarBalt-Rutoil limited liability company has been set up in partnership with Latvian investors. The company is specialized in processing oil. The new company can process 180-200 tonnes of oil a day and produce fuel oil, petrol, paraffin and diesel fuel.
"The production facility was built in line with a modern architectural style. Currently, we are testing Russian up-to-date technologies. Specialists are training young people to use new equipment," the company’s chief engineer, Olloyor Ametov, has told an UzA news agency correspondent.
About 100 people got jobs in the district thanks to the opening of the joint venture.
