During the meeting, which was held for the first time, as the Kyrgyz Border Service noted, the sides considered the results of joint operations conducted to ensure security on the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border. They also discussed improving cooperation and raising the quality of work at checkpoints, as well as a prompt exchange of information.

The head of the Uzbek border troops, Ruslan Mirzayev, and the chairman of the Kyrgyz Border Service, Tokon Mamytov, spoke at the staff meeting.

As part of the staff meeting, talks were held between heads of the two countries’ neighbouring border detachments. The next staff meeting will be held in the southern Kyrgyz town of Osh in November.
