Uzbek-Korean roundtable takes place within E-Gov cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 15 September, the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with a delegation led by Deputy Minister of Security and Public Administration of the Republic of Korea Kim Bu Geom.

During the meeting, the sides discussed promising areas of cooperation in attracting expert support for developing the Master Plan for e-Government for 2018-2020, for Safe City project on a long-term basis, and launching a pilot project on Safe City on example of one district in Tashkent.

In the course of the conversation, the participants discussed prospects for organization of a training program for specialists by the Ministry of Finance and interested ministries and departments for the Safe City project, based on the experience of the Republic of Korea and the capacity of the Innovation Center for Supporting the Development and Implementation of Information Technologies Mirzo Ulugbek Innovation Center attract Korean IT companies for the joint implementation of projects for the development of software products and outsourcing services for the CIS countries.

In particular, Inha University in Tashkent hosted the Uzbek-Korean round table devoted to cooperation in the field of e-government.

The round table was attended by representatives of interested ministries and departments, as well as specialists of subordinate enterprises of the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications.

During the round table, the sides discussed issues of expanding further cooperation in the field of e-government in Uzbekistan. In addition, the participants of the event considered reports and presentations on the Master Plan of the Republic of Korea on e-government until 2020, on open data for open government, and on the “smart city” (CSTV in terms of security).

Special attention was paid to further expansion of bilateral relations in the field of e-government.
