The events gathered over 1,200 representatives of academic and public circles of Uzbekistan and Japan. The events were held at Tokyo Orientalism University and Nara University and organized in partnership of Forum of Culture and Art of Uzbekistan, Japanese universities administrations, Japan-Uzbek archeological expedition, Science Academy of Uzbekistan and Uzbekistan Embassy in Japan.
The symposium became the first international project dedicated to 1,300th anniversary of Nara city and received status of special project of jubilee of ancient Nara.
The participants considered unique Buddhism monuments in Uzbekistan, culture of Great Silk Road, impact of Baktriya, Sogd, Khorezm and Ferghana-Chach civilization to formation of global culture and religion.
