Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Ms. Midori Matsushima arrived in Uzbekistan and held negotiations with senior Uzbek officials on 17 August.
State-run UzA reported that Ms Matsushima met Deputy Prime Minister and Higher and Secondary Special Education Minister Rustam Kasimov on the reporting day.
The sides noted that Uzbekistan and Japan gradually develop interaction in all spheres, including in science, education, culture and healthcare.
The report said Ms Matsushima praised wide-scale reforms in Uzbekistan in development of economic, science, education, culture and healthcare. The sides noted that the relations between countries develop in line with joint statement on friendship, strategic partnership and cooperation.
The officials exchanged opinion on development and implementation of joint mutual beneficial projects, UzA added.
The sides signed agreement on project "On equipment with medical equipment of Scientific-Research Institute of Obstetrics and Genecology".
On the same day, Japanese official held negotiations at Uzbek Foreign Ministry.
