Economy19/11/2007Uzbek, Japanese companies sign cooperation accord
A visiting delegation led by the president of Japan’s Isuzu Motors company, Ida Yoshinori, and the president of the Itochu Corporation’s machinery company, Furuta Takanobu, on 16 November met the deputy prime ministers of Uzbekistan, Rustam Azimov and Quvondiq Sanaqulov.
During the meeting, views were exchanged on issues of strengthening relations between the Samarqand bus-assembling plant (SamAvto) [in central Uzbekistan] and Isuzu Motors and expanding joint production, as well as on working out and implementing mutually beneficial projects.
As a result of the talks, an agreement on strategic cooperation was signed between the Uzavtosanoat (Uzbek Auto Industry) joint-stock company, SamAvto, Isuzu Motors and Itochu, UzA reported.
