Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Lieutenant-General Bakhodir Kurbanov, received Italian Defense Minister Crosetto Guido, who arrived in Uzbekistan. It should be noted that the development of bilateral relations based on equality, mutual trust and respect has reached a new level in recent years.

In accordance with the expanding cooperation in the political, economic, cultural, social and other spheres, Uzbekistan and Italy have common goals in the fight against extremism, religious radicalism, international terrorism and other transnational threats that are considered a threat to peace and stability.

Before the start of the official reception in honor of the distinguished guest, the Guard of Honor lined up. The anthems of the two countries were played.

During the meeting of defense ministers, the current state of bilateral cooperation in the field of security and defense, as well as the prospects for its development, were discussed.

It was also emphasized that holding staff talks between the defense departments of the two countries in order to further strengthen and develop military cooperation is becoming traditional.

At the end of the meeting, a high assessment was given to bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Italy in the military and military-technical spheres.
