Chamber of Commerce of Uzbekistan and Chamber of Commerce of Iran supported the organization of the meeting.

Iran is one of the 10 largest economic partners of Uzbekistan. Bilateral trade turnover between states reached US$565 million in 2007, of which US$535.6 million fell to share of Uzbekistan’s exports and US$29.4 million to imports.

About 117 joint enterprises with the Iranian investments work in Uzbekistan, including 24 ventures with the Iranian capital. They are engaged in production of consumer goods, textile products, agriculture goods, construction materials and others.
