Uzbek-Indonesian Business Forum held in Jakarta
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 10 to 12 February 2025, a delegation from Uzbekistan, led by Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov, paid an official visit to Indonesia.
As part of the visit, the Uzbek-Indonesian Business Forum took place in Jakarta on 11 February, along with B2B meetings attended by representatives of the business communities from both countries.
The forum brought together officials from relevant ministries and agencies, industrial associations, commercial banks, and over 100 major companies operating in agriculture, electrical engineering, textiles, and the leather industry. Davron Vakhabov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, delivered a keynote speech.
Discussions focused on strengthening trade, economic, and investment ties, promoting industrial cooperation, and implementing reforms to improve Uzbekistan’s business climate. Special attention was given to the country’s potential in tourism and industry.
By the end of 2024, bilateral trade between Uzbekistan and Indonesia amounted to US$79.3 million, with Uzbekistan’s exports reaching US$10.8 million and imports totaling US$68.5 million.
As a result of the forum, agreements were reached to expand bilateral cooperation. Notably, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and Indonesia.
