Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The 58th joint meeting of the Council of Heads of Administrations of Communications of the Regional Commonwealth in the field of communications and the 28th meeting of the Coordinating Council of the CIS member states on informatization under the RCC have ended in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
Minister of Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov for the first time was elected Chairman of the Council of Heads of Administrations of Communications of the Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communications and the Coordinating Council of the CIS Member States on Informatization under the RCC, in which Russia chaired for more than 30 years.
The election of the Minister of ICT as the Chairman of this Council and the CSI is the next step towards the implementation of a number of tasks to turn Uzbekistan into a regional IT hub.
