Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Uzbekistan approved the status and responsibilities of the Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Minister for Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade, head of complex on foreign economic activity, attraction of foreign investments and localization of products under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan.

As earlier reported, Minister of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade Elyor Ganiev was appointed to the post of the Deputy Prime Minister and head of complex on foreign economic activity, attraction of foreign investments and production localization of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan.

Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan and Minister for Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade is member of the Government of Uzbekistan and enters to the structure of Cabinet’s Presidium.

Minister participated in the sessions of the Cabinet of Ministers and its Presidium. Minister is accountable to the Uzbek President and Prime Minister of Uzbekistan.

Deputy Prime Minister heads the Complex of the Cabinet of Ministers on foreign economic activity, attraction of foreign investments and localization of products.

Main tasks of the Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan and Minister for Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade are:

• implementing duties of the minister for foreign economic relations, investments and trade; ensuring single foreign economic policy, first of all ensuring balanced foreign trade turnover, expansion of export potential, optimization of volumes and structure of imports of goods and services in Uzbekistan;
• ensuring coordination and agreement of actions of ministries, departments, commercial structures, companies, associations, firms, enterprises and organizations in territory of Uzbekistan, carrying out foreign economic activity, creating necessary conditions and preferences;
• developing proposals on priority foreign economic and foreign trade with foreign states, international financial and economic institutes, foreign companies, firms and banks based on strategic development goals of the country and analysis global markets;
• strengthening the role and improving efficiency of foreign economic policy in achieving strategic tasks of the country;
• attracting foreign investments and grants for modernization of economy, technical and technological re-equipment of production capacities;
• further optimization of foreign trade turnover and deepening of localization of products;

Deputy Prime Minister will held information-analytical department on foreign economic activity, attraction of foreign investments and products localization and interdepartmental Customs and Tariffs Council, Interdepartmental Commission on work with the World Trade Organization and other commissions.

Minister will also coordinate work of the State Customs Committee, Uzbektourism national companies, as well as other ministries and departments, business entities and other organizations in part of foreign trade economic activity.
