On 27 October 2009, Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan approved temporary regulation on simplification of order of issuing license on use of interiors of territories for geological exploration, experimental-industrial and industrial mining of bricks’ raw materials.

The document was adopted to execute resolution of the Uzbek President “On additional measures on stimulation of increasing production and improving quality of wall materials” from 19 June 2009 and support enterprises, producing baked brick based on modern energy saving technologies.

State Geology Committee of Uzbekistan in cooperation with Uzstroymaterialy was entrusted to ensure issuance of license giving right to use interiors of territories for geological exploration, experimental-industrial and industrial mining of bricks’ raw materials and enterprises, producing baked brick based on modern energy saving technologies till 1 February 2010. The licenses are issued in line with the application of the enterprises.

Enterprises, producing baked brick based on modern energy saving technologies, was given right to continue their operation up to receiving license, but they should get one by 1 February 2010.

In line with the resolution of the Uzbek President “On additional measures on stimulation of increasing production and improving quality of wall materials”, enterprises, producing baked brick, will be modernized till 2010 and equipped with energy saving equipment and resource saving technologies.

The document exempted backed brick producers, using energy saving technologies, from all tax and mandatory payments to state funds from 1 July 2009 to 1 January 2012.

From 1 January 2012, the microfirms and small businesses, producing baked brick based on modern energy saving technologies, will pay single income tax and mandatory payment for use of interiors.
