Uzbek-German International Medical Forum to be held in Samarkand

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, Minister of Health Amrillo Inoyatov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to our country Tilo Klinner.

Issues of expanding multifaceted cooperation in the field of medicine, joint implementation of new projects were discussed at the meeting.

In particular, cooperation with the Freiburg and Hannover International Universities of Neurosciences, the Charite University, as well as the Robert Koch Institute in the field of oncology, neurosurgery, cardiac surgery and telemedicine is currently ongoing.

In addition, 7 investment and grant projects totaling 175 million euros are being implemented jointly with the German Development Bank (KfW) to modernize medical institutions in Uzbekistan, equip them with modern equipment, launch alternative energy sources and medical education.

Thus, the project "Reproductive Health, Maternal and Childhood Protection" is aimed at improving the service of specialized pediatric care in our country.

The fifth and sixth stages of the grant project "Fight against tuberculosis" provide for equipping the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Phthisiology and Pulmonology and regional anti-tuberculosis dispensaries with modern equipment and devices.

Projects are also being implemented to introduce teleradiology in regional multidisciplinary medical centers, digital technologies in the healthcare sector, equip health facilities in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the Khorezm region with modern medical equipment, modernize medical education and advanced training programs in Termez.

At the same time, in cooperation with the clinics of the Charité Medical University and the Robert Koch Institute of Germany, the Robert Koch - Ibn Sino Medical Foundation was created, which stipulates advanced training of specialists in the field of medicine, an increase in the coverage of master classes using telemedicine, and attraction of foreign investments .

During the dialogue, an agreement was reached to hold the Uzbek-German International Medical Forum on 26-27 May 2023 in Samarkand.

As noted, this prestigious event is aimed at further expanding cooperation between the two states in such areas as healthcare, medical education, pharmaceuticals, IT, traditional medicine, as well as the exchange of experience and exploring the possibilities of creating joint ventures in the field of healthcare.
