Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Intergovernmental negotiations on cooperation for development between Uzbekistan and Germany were held in the format of a video conference, Dunyo news agency reported.
The Uzbek delegation at the talks was headed by the Deputy Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Shukhrat Vafayev, the German one - by the authorized representative of the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development Gisella Hammerschmidt.
During the talks, the parties reviewed the implementation of the current program of bilateral financial and technical cooperation and identified priority areas for future cooperation.
The German side highly appreciated the reforms carried out in our country in the socio-political and socio-economic spheres and reaffirmed its commitment to support the reform course of the Government of Uzbekistan by increasing the volume of financial and technical assistance provided to the republic. This is evidenced by the fact that Uzbekistan was chosen as the only partner country in Central Asia within the framework of the new "Strategy 2030" adopted by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany.
Among the priority areas of bilateral financial and technical cooperation for 2021, the parties identified specific projects in the areas of healthcare, vocational education, support for entrepreneurship, digitalization, expanding export potential, as well as promoting the integrated development of the Aral Sea region.
