Uzbek gas firm to switch to market prices in 2009
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Uzbekistan’s state energy company, UzbekNefteGaz, is looking to sell 14 billion cubic metres (bcm) of gas to Russia’s Gazprom in 2009, against 13 bcm now, company official Jurabek Mirzamahmudov told reporters in New Delhi where he is attending a conference.
He said the company will price the gas it sells to various clients in the region, including Gazprom, in 2009 at market rates not the fixed prices its uses now, Reuters reported.
