Uzbek Foreign Ministry Urges Citizens in the U.S. to Follow Local Laws Amid Protests in Los Angeles
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan has issued a statement regarding the situation in Los Angeles, where mass protests have erupted in response to immigration raids.
According to the Ministry, there have been no reports indicating the involvement of Uzbek citizens in the demonstrations.
Nevertheless, the Ministry strongly advises all Uzbek nationals residing in the United States to strictly observe local laws and refrain from participating in any public gatherings that could disrupt public order or pose a risk to safety.
In case of emergencies, citizens are encouraged to contact the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Washington, D.C., or the Consulate General in New York.
The protests in Los Angeles began on 6 June following public outrage over actions taken by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), which has been conducting arrests and deportations of undocumented migrants in line with directives from the White House.
On 7 June, U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order authorizing the deployment of 2,000 National Guard troops to suppress the protests.
