Uzbek Foreign Minister meets with EU Special Representative for Central Asia
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 12 May 2025, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bakhtiyor Saidov, held a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with Eduard Stiprais, the European Union’s Special Representative for Central Asia.
During the talks, both sides reaffirmed their mutual commitment to further strengthening the beneficial partnership between Uzbekistan and the European Union. Particular emphasis was placed on the implementation of the agreements reached at the Central Asia–European Union Summit held in Samarkand, which marked an important milestone in the development of interregional dialogue.
The parties discussed a wide range of bilateral and regional issues, including cooperation in education, sustainable development, water security, environmental protection, digitalization, and green energy.
They also exchanged views on current international and regional challenges.
Both sides underscored the importance of maintaining the momentum of dialogue and expanding practical cooperation across all areas of mutual interest.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to actively continue the political dialogue and to further strengthen their partnership based on trust, openness, and mutual respect.
