Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov is visiting Belarus, BELTA reports. The program of the visit on 11 April includes a meeting with the head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry Sergei Aleynik in a narrow and expanded format.

Sergei Aleynik emphasized that he was very happy about this visit. He noticed that the visit began in such sunny weather. “I think that such a sunny mood really characterizes our relations that we are building,” the minister believes.

“It is especially important that it takes place after the historic visit of the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko to Uzbekistan - a visit that really gave a qualitatively new impetus to our cooperation. A solid package of documents was signed, a road map of cooperation, which we are now actively working on and must implement through joint efforts,” said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.

Diplomatic relations between Belarus and Uzbekistan were established on 21 January 1993. There are embassies in two countries. In February 2024, the diplomatic mission of Uzbekistan in Belarus was headed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Rakhmatulla Nazarov
