Uzbek experts participated in the International AtomSkills-2025 Championship

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The 10th anniversary professional skills championship, AtomSkills-2025, concluded in Yekaterinburg, attracting over two thousand participants and experts from Russia, CIS countries, and beyond, including Uzbekistan.

For comparison, the first AtomSkills championship, which featured 10 competencies, saw participation from about 450 specialists and experts. This year, the number of competitive categories in the championship increased to 44.

Over five days, in both the main and student leagues of AtomSkills-2025, representatives from 16 divisions and enterprises of the Rosatom Group, major companies, and students competed for the title of the best in their profession. This year, the number of universities and colleges presenting their teams grew to 70.

Experts from Uzbekistan were actively involved in the business program of the championship, strengthening professional connections and sharing experiences.

Zayniddin Khudaiberdiev, Director of the Institute for the Development of Vocational Education in Uzbekistan, noted that such events elevate the professional level of young people and contribute to the development of their competencies. He believes that holding the championship in collaboration with employers increases youth interest, as they see their future in this sector.

The forum became a unique platform for discussing the challenges facing the vocational education systems of participating countries, including Uzbekistan, where the construction of the first nuclear power plant opens new opportunities for scientific, technical, and socio-economic development.

As part of the career orientation track of the championship, schoolchildren and students had the opportunity to get acquainted with the in-demand professions in the nuclear industry and sign up for internships at the enterprises of the state corporation Rosatom.

Tulkin Nurmurodov, Professor and Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation at the Navoi State Mining and Technology University, emphasized the significant role of nuclear energy for Uzbekistan. He noted that the country is rapidly developing, with the population growing by nearly one million people annually. He pointed out that this creates powerful human capital with fast-growing dynamics. Nurmurodov added that energy plays a key role, and the construction of a nuclear power plant will not only ensure a stable electricity supply but also provide a strong impetus for the country's scientific and economic development. He also stressed that nuclear technologies are in demand not only in energy but also in medicine, agriculture, and other sectors.

The participants of the championship solved tasks prepared in accordance with international standards. In addition to the competitive part, the event featured a rich business program. Within the framework of the "Parent League Rosatom" forum and the "Green Pen" conference, issues related to fostering professional motivation among young people and methods for developing engineering thinking from an early age were discussed.

For Uzbekistan, participation in such events not only contributes to strengthening energy independence but also opens the path to integration into the international professional community. Moreover, it creates new opportunities for specialists and students in the country, laying a solid foundation for developing partnerships with leading global players in the nuclear industry.
