Uzbek experts meets with Director of the Institute for Forecasting and Security in Europe Emanuel Dupuy

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 14 November 2022, in Paris, representatives of the delegation of the leading research centers of Uzbekistan - the International Institute of Central Asia, the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies, the Center for Economic Research and Reforms, as well as the Information and Analytical Center for International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan held a meeting with the director of the Institute for Forecasting and Security in Europe (IPSE) Emmanuel Dupuy.

During the event, the participants discussed the state of Uzbek-French cooperation and development prospects between the two countries, issues of expanding interaction between the research centers of the states.

A separate topic of discussion was issues related to the implementation of initiatives that were announced by the Leader of our state during his official visit to France in 2018.

The French expert gave a positive assessment of the dynamics of bilateral cooperation, the development of processes in Central Asia, as well as the prospects for strengthening ties between Central Asia and the European Union.

Emmanuel Dupuy noted that thanks to the new regional course of Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a favorable political atmosphere has been created in Central Asia, which helps to strengthen mutual trust and establish mutually beneficial cooperation. The processes that have formed in the region open up good opportunities for building up France's bilateral and multilateral partnership with the Central Asian countries.

“France supports reforms in Uzbekistan aimed at building a strong civil society and modernizing the economy. I am confident that the Strategy for the Development of New Uzbekistan, carried out under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, will ensure the sustainable development of the country and the region as a whole, and increase the geopolitical significance of Central Asia on the world stage.”

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached on the development of practical steps for the implementation of joint programs and activities, including research work, seminars, conferences, as well as expert meetings with the participation of representatives of the countries of Central Asia and the Institute for Forecasting and Security in Europe.

IPSE is a Paris-based think tank established in 1998. The main focus is on a perspective analysis of major trends in international security and the diplomatic agenda.

The goal is to analyze international issues and disseminate them through publication, organization of various seminars and publications. IPSE develops specific proposals for national and European politicians dealing with issues one way or another related to the development of society, European security, etc.
